In the Brooklyn district there are plenty of places to enjoy a relaxing brunch. The people of Brooklyn are culturally diverse and this is reflected on the menus. For a delicious brunch in classic Jewish style, go to the Mile End Deli in Hoyt Street. Try the white-fish salad with egg, or chopped liver on pumpernickel bread. Are you seriously hungry? Then order The Beauty: a bagel loaded with salmon, tomato, cream cheese and capers. A few blocks down, you’ll find Building On Bond, a cosy Italian café with an extensive lunch menu, available from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. Highly recommended is the BBQ Pork Hash Benedict, an extravagant variation on the original, with slowly roasted pork, a poached egg and chipotle Hollandaise sauce. Up north, on Hudson Avenue, is Vinegar Hill House with a brunch menu based on South American influences. Try the ‘tacos dorados’ for a spicy start to your day. Brunch at Teresa’s Restaurant in Brooklyn Heights includes Eastern European delicacies such as ‘pierogi’ and ‘blintzes’, as well as delicious award-winning coffees. While sipping your drink, enjoy the stunning views over Manhattan. If you prefer a touch of France, head for Atlantic Avenue. Bacchus Bistrot à Vins serves a wide variety of ‘œufs’, such as ‘Bénédicte’ and ‘Florentine’, as well as spicy lamb sausages that taste extra delicious with a good glass of French wine.
